According to Mynewgh, Ghana is mourning the sudden death of Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, following a tragic military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives on August 6, 2025. Amid the national grief, a past interview featuring the late minister has resurfaced, leaving many deeply moved by his profound words on life and mortality.
Speaking on Diamond Power Drive in what would become his last known public interview, Dr Murtala Mohammed reflected on how he viewed existence and the fleeting nature of material wealth.
“I don’t think of death. Material things don’t shape my perspective. I live by principles and purpose,” he stated calmly, his words now circulating widely on social media in light of his unexpected passing.
The interview, once considered a thoughtful conversation, has taken on a hauntingly prophetic tone, with many Ghanaians revisiting his words as a legacy of wisdom and humility.
