Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has boldly declared that he stands far ahead of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia when it comes to leadership, competence, and credibility. Speaking in a no-holds-barred interview on Nhyira FM, Agyepong minced no words as he tore into the Vice President, branding him as an incompetent leader who has failed Ghanaians despite the huge trust and responsibility handed to him
According to Agyepong, Bawumia has consistently hidden behind lofty promises and economic jargon, but has failed woefully to deliver real results for the people. He stressed that the Vice President’s record in government is nothing but a catalogue of disappointment, as the Ghanaian economy continues to sink under unbearable hardship, inflation, and unemployment.
“I am not afraid to say it anywhere—Kwabena Agyepong is better than Dr. Bawumia. He has been given the chance to prove himself, and he has failed. You cannot continue to deceive Ghanaians with slogans while families are suffering daily. Leadership is about results, not empty words,” Agyepong fired.
The former NPP scribe also accused Bawumia of being the mastermind behind the party’s growing unpopularity, especially after the government’s economic mismanagement has left ordinary Ghanaians frustrated and angry. He maintained that Bawumia’s bid to lead the NPP into the 2024 general elections is nothing short of a disaster waiting to happen.
Agyepong further reminded listeners that credibility is key in politics, and Dr. Bawumia has lost every shred of it after failing to uphold the promises he boldly made to Ghanaians prior to the 2016 elections. He stated emphatically that the NPP must rethink its leadership if it truly wants to maintain power, warning that presenting Bawumia as the face of the party could guarantee defeat.
The outspoken politician concluded by reaffirming his commitment to speaking the truth without fear, stressing that Ghana deserves leaders who are tested, honest, and competent—not individuals who have thrived on propaganda.
