A recent extensive survey conducted by this correspondent over the past thirty days indicates that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is currently leading the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential race as he enjoys support among the delegates who will ultimately decide the party’s flagbearer for the December 2028 general elections.
The survey which was extended to several regions went beyond merely sampling public opinions but also directly engaged with a significant number of real delegates who possess the power to vote in the upcoming NPP primaries.
Under strict conditions of confidentiality a portion of these delegates offered their unflinching assurances to vote Kennedy Agyapong as their preferred choice.
They indicated that Kennedy Agyapong is the most capable candidate who can face the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the next national elections.
Across the ten regions visited by the correspondent Kennedy Agyapong’s name was a prevalent topic of local discussions.
Many described him as a matured politician, celebrated businessman, philanthropist, unifier a person dedicated to foster peace and also a one who have the excellent track records of solving problems .
Some of the delegates from the key regions like Ashanti, Greater Accra, Central, Western, and notably, Volta regions, expressed their admiration and support for the former lawmaker.
For many none of the other contestants can rival the extensive achievements Kennedy Agyapong has demonstrated in party organization and development over the years.
They questioned the logic of overlooking such a transparent and multi faceted politician at a time where he has expressed his interest to lead the party to victory..
Offering a word of advice to fellow delegates, a delegate from Kumasi urged them to have confidence and vote massively for Kennedy Agyapong when the time comes.
He indicated that while some of the NPP presidential aspirants might be allegedly dishing out millions of cedis as gifts delegates should accept these monies but ultimately show them the red card in the day of voting.
This is because political appointment does not mean pay money for post.
