Kwabre East Constituency ndc calls for respect and independence of Electoral Commission.

In a bold and assertive statement, supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kwabre East Constituency in the Ashanti region have made their position clear regarding the party’s interactions with the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana.

Delivering a message directed towards prominent party figures, including former President John Mahama and the party’s National chairman Mr Johnson Assiedu Nketia, the supporters urged them to allow the Electoral Commission to function as an independent body without undue interference.

As the country gears up for future elections, the need for a stable and impartial electoral process cannot be overstated.

The supporters expressed their concerns that public incitements and confrontational rhetoric surrounding the EC could potentially inflame political tensions, undermining the integrity of the electoral process.

The message from the Kwabre East Constituency was not just a warning but also a constructive plea for dialogue.

Party faithful said recognizing the crucial role of the EC in the democractic process, the supporters emphasized the need for peaceful engagement rather than what they termed as “public incitement.”

They believe that a cooperative approach to addressing grievances with the EC will yield better results than aggressive public confrontations, which could threaten to deepen divisions within the political landscape.

“We call on our leaders to engage the EC through dialogue and constructive criticism rather than through insults or public displays of hostility,” stated a spokesperson for the group, Alhassan Adongo.

“Our democracy is fragile, and we cannot afford to make a situation worse by creating unnecessary animosity.”

Supporters highlighted the importance of preserving the independence of the EC. They believe that the commission must operate free from political pressure to ensure that elections are conducted fairly and transparently.

By respecting the role of the EC, political parties can contribute to building trust in the electoral process, ultimately leading to more credible elections.
