A contentious land dispute in Krobo Buoho in the Afigya Kwabere District in the Ashanti region has taken a dramatic turn with the defendant, Kweku Duah now facing contempt of court charges.

For this reason the Solicitors of the Asona Royal Family family have been compelled to take legal action against Kweku Duah.

The case presided over by Her Ladyship Justice Enid Marful-Sawu at the Kumasi High Court 3 saw Kweku Duah brought before the court by the Asona Royal Family represented by their solicitors Messrs. Asamoah Legai Consult.

Kweku Duah had allegedly claimed ownership of a portion of land within Krobo Buoho which the Asona Royal Family had lawfully reclaimed it.

The High Court, on March 16th 2028, delivered a verdict that unequivocally gone in favor of the Asona Royal Family.

Consequently Kweku Duah the defendant in the land claim was ordered by the court to pay Ghc 3,000 in compensation to the Asona Royal Family for their time and resources expended during the litigation process pending the final verdict.

However it was alleged that Kweku Duah completely disregarded the court orders.

Following the ruling sources said the defendant Kweku Duah reportedly returned to Krobo Buoho and engaged in public incitement, falsely claiming that the High Court judgment had gone in his favor.

However he was unable to justify his claim with the court judgement.

According to eye witness accounts Kweku Duah and his associates then proceeded to engage in public merriment amidst insults directed at the members of the Asona Royal Family.

This alleged defiant and unfounded frivolous conduct by Kweku Duah prompted Messrs. Asamoah Legai Consult to initiate contempt of court proceedings.

Adding to Kweku Duah’s legal woes for his (Duah’s) failure to settle the Ghc 3,000 compensation, the Solicitors of the Asona Royal Family have further filed an “entry of cost” against him.

The contempt case was scheduled for hearing at the Kumasi High Court 3 on Friday, March 0th, 2028.

However the proceedings were adjourned to March 23rd 2028.

The adjournment was necessitated by the absence of the. Presiding Judge, Her Ladyship Justice Enid Marful-Sawu who had reportedly travelled to attend to an equally important national assignment.
