Late Acheamfuor’s family head, destooled over misappropriation and misconduct.
The family of Dr Bright Acheamfour in the Mehame of the Ahafo Region has destooled their family head, Opanin Collins Kwame Kusi aka Evangelist Onua Kusi for misappropriating family funds and conaving with the wife of the late Dr Bright Acheamfour without accountability to the family members, a case they described it as a gross disrespect towards the family.
The Obaapanin Nana Ama Akyiaa of Mehame Ekona Royal Family led the family members together with the sisters, mothers and nephews of the late Dr Bright Acheamfour to perform a customary rites to signify the destoolment of Opanin Collins Kwame Kusi as their family head.
Obaapanin Ama Akyaa led the pouring of schnapps at their family house and the tomb of the Dr Bright Acheamfour and his mother at the Mehame cemetery to notified the gods that the family that presented Opanin Kwame Kusi to serve as a family head has been destooled, hence he should not be recognized as Ekona Royal family head again.
They had a traditional procession in the Mehame township amidst drums, informing citizens of Mehame that Opanin Kwame Kusi has been destooled.
Obaapanin Ama Akyiaa told the media that Opanin Kwame Kusi over the period dishonoured their invitation to render his stewardship to the family after the final funeral rites of their late son, Dr Bright Acheamfour.
According to Obaapanin Ama Akyaa, Opanin Kwame Kusi has connived with the wife of late Dr Bright Acheamfour, Madam Sarah Acheamfour to take control of all the properties and companies of their late brother.
The family has now appointed Opanin Akwasi Dankwah as the new family head of Ahafo Mehame Ekona family.
