One of the leading and powerful pressure organs in the National Democratic Congress (Ndc) dubbed Caucus For Matured Democrats has raised a red flag against the administration of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.
According to the Movement despite the leadership of the party’s efforts to transform the economy they lack the ability to enforce probity and accountability through investigations to retrieve the state stolen funds as promised Ghananians.
In a press release dated April 4 and signed by the group’s Executive Secretary Comrade Baba Iddrisu, Ghanaians would be compelled to loose confidence in the government and. equate the financial malpractices of the previous Npp’s regime to the current administration for failing to investigate and retrieve stolen funds to government.
We publish below unedited the full press release which was

PRESS STATEMENT
TO ALL MEDIA HOUSES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Saturday 4 April, 2026.
Subject: Urgent Call for Action Of NDC Leadership to Sustain Public Confidence in NDC Party
Sir,
We write to the leadership of the NDC with heavy heart and with very deep concern for the direction of our leadership and the expectations of the Ghanaian people.
While we acknowledge the efforts being made to reset, restructure to put our democracy and economy back on track of progress, development and prosperity, there is a growing sentiment among Ghanaians that they already understand the track record of the New Patriotic Party.
What many believe they voted for, however, was not just a change in leadership, but a commitment to probity and accountability—specifically, the investigation and prosecution of alleged corruption and other wrongdoings.
Until decisive action is taken in this regard, continued counter-accusations may not resonate with the public. Instead, it risks creating the perception that there is little difference between NDC and those npp we replaced.
Additionally, concerns are rising among ndc party members and supporters regarding unmet expectations—particularly around ORAL, unemployment—and the continued presence of individuals associated with the previous administration in key spaces in government. These issues are affecting morale at the grassroots level.
Strong, visible steps toward probity and accountability would not only restore confidence among the general public but also energize party faithfuls to do more for all Ghanaians to get to know better that npp are truly the avowed enemies of the state and national progress and development.
It would shift national conversation, reduce internal pressure on leadership, and reinforce the message that this administration stands for justice and integrity.
Leadership requires foresight and deliberate planning. The decisions taken now will determine not just immediate public perception, but the long-term sustainability of our political future.
We respectfully urge that this matter be given urgent attention, as it presents an opportunity to strengthen trust and solidify support for the years ahead.
Thank you, Sir.
