Man, 40, arrested in a failed kidnap attempt at New Edubiase.
A 40 year old man who decided to allegedly steal two children by force at New Edubiase in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti region has cursed his birthday as he is currently in the firm grip of the police.
According to the father of the victims, Mr Kwabena Frank, two of his children asked him to give them some money to enable them settle their school fees of which he honored the children’s demand.
Frank Kwabena said after settling the children he was taken aback when someone later informed him about the incident that somebody had made an attempt to kidnap his two children but the person was arrested.
He said upon reaching the police station, the children (victims) narrated their ordeal to him and the media about how the incident occurred.
According to the children after taken the money from their father and heading towards the school they met a man who identified himself as Kofi Mahama, a teacher at one of the school’s at New Edubiase
After self introduction Mahama asked them to accompany him to his school to enable him give them some money of which they obliged.
But suspicion emerged when a trader who knows the parents of the children confronted Mahama and questioned him about where he was sending the children to, but to the shock of the trader the man couldn’t explained himself.
He then made an attempt to run away but through an alarm he was arrested and handed over to the police.
