Nigeria has announced additional vocational skills subjects to the basic education curriculum

Nigeria has announced the addition of plumbing, makeup, hairstyling, phone repairs, interior design, plumbing, tiling and floor works, event decoration, baking, and satellite/TV antenna installation, and 12 other new subjects to the Basic Education curriculum.

The Nigerian government says this is to boost students’ practical skills and employability. The new subjects will take effect starting this month for primary and junior secondary students across the country.
