In a recent incident that has sparked outrage in the Ejuraman/Sekyedumase Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Adomakoa Baafi, a campaign team member of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called for the arrest of Osuman, a Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The request comes after allegations that Osuman physically assaulted Abdulai Rahman Hudu, a communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), during a heated debate at Naagyei FM, a local radio station.
The altercation reportedly occurred when tensions flared during a discussion on political issues affecting the Constituency.
According to Baafi, Osuman, having exhausted his arguments, resorted to violence, allegedly punching Hudu in an act of aggression that Baafi describes as unprovoked and unjustified.
“It was an unfair act that has no place in our political discourse,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of maintaining civility during political debates.
Baafi further commented on the incident, reflecting on the broader implications for political communication in the country.
“Political disagreements should be settled through dialogue, not violence. This kind of behavior sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the democratic principles we stand for,” he added.
The altercation has reportedly been referred to law enforcement agencies for further investigations.
However, Baafi expressed frustration over the perceived inaction from the authorities, noting that no significant steps have been taken to address the situation thus far. “We need justice in this matter.
The absence of immediate action from the police is concerning, and we cannot let this go unaddressed,” he urged.
