The Chairperson of the Board of Trustees for the National Cathedral has said that those who opposed the GHC80 million budget allocation for the construction of the cathedral do not understand the concept of the project.
According to Apostle Kwadwo Nimfour Opoku Onyinah, it is normal to get opposition when one is doing something for God.
Speaking at the three-day bible reading marathon at the National Cathedral site on Wednesday morning, Dr Opoku Onyinah said, “if you go through the Bible, you see that once God wants to do something, there’s an opposition so the opposition will continue.”
“But, thank God that in the midst of opposition, God also raised those who are able to support, so, rather focus on those people who are supporting and encourage them to do that.
We wish that the opposition had understood the concept. Sometimes if it’s possible for you to cut off your head and give it to somebody, you will do that and the person will never support you,” he added.
Dr Opoku Onyinah further urged stakeholders and individuals who have trust in the construction of the cathedral to continue offering their support for the project.
“So we are rather encouraging those people who see the essence and importance of the cathedral to continue to support and bring others on board,” he said.
