Otumfuo entrusted me onto the Yabi stool to promote peace but not violence

Otumfuo entrusted me onto the Yabi stool to promote peace but not violence – Yabihene.

The chief of Atwima Yabi in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti region, Nana Kontomire Kwame Frjmpong has disclosed that as a responsible chief, his mandate is to promote peace, unity and to ensure carrying out development projects to improve upon the living standards of his people and for that matter Ghanaians in general.

According to him, during his installation ceremony at the Palace, the occupant of the Golden Stool Asantehene Osei Tutu II counselled him to go and occupy the Yabi prestigious stool and promote peace and unity devoid of activities that could raise credibility problems in the society.

The chief who sounded humble was reacting to the recent incident at Yabi where some alleged hired thugs attacked him and some residents at Yabi resulting to fatal injuries on one of his linguists, Nana Peter Asiedu.

The hurt linguist has since been discharged from hospital whilst police investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

According to Yabihene, he allegedly suspected the Toasehene and some chiefs who wanted to apply force mechanism to claim portions of his stool lands in the thuggery mission at Yabi.

Nana Kontomire Kwame Frimpong Ababio related that he can though equally use violence to resist those chiefs who wanted to use force to claim portions of his lands, but because he is a law abiding based on Otumfuo’s advise, hence he has kept quite with the hope that Asantehene would soon bring those violent chiefs to book.

Meanwhile in an authoritative documents intercepted by our outfit the Manhyia Palace has ruled in favour of Yabihene that Toasehene and all those chiefs claiming to have portions of land on the Kontomire/Yabi Stool Lands have been goofing as their claims are false.

In the said documents dated 07/12/2021, with ref no.5/Vol.146/015 signed by Oheneba Owusu Afriyie IV Otumfuo Apagyahene (Laison Officer of Manhyia) addressed to C/Superintendent of Police, Ghana Police Service and copied to Nana Yabihene, Kumasi, and Nana Toasehene, Ashanti region, Asantehene’s Lands Secretarial categorically made it clear that Toasehene has no land within the jurisdiction of Kontomire/Yabi Stool Lands.

The document further went on that any person or group of persons or cooperate bodies who has/have acquired a plot or plots in the said area from any source, whether built or work in progress or not yet developed at the above mentioned place to submit all documents to Yabi Palace for verification and or regularisation before 30 days of this notice.

All affected persons who fail to respond to this announcement must hold themselves responsible for any adverse consequences, the document stated.

But Yabihene was confident that with the Manhyja,s verdict which gone into his favour, he would continue to promote peace, unity and protect his people to ensure that his developmental agenda for the town is realized.
