The Secretary of the New Patriotic Party Justin Frimpong Kodua has called on the members of the New Patriotic Party to rush to the residents of Parliamentary candidate Adenta Kumi to resist his arrest after officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (C.I.D) and the National Security reportedly stormed his home to arrest him this morning
“ALL PATRIOTS SHOULD RUSH TO ADENTA KUMI’S HOUSE. OVER 20 C.I.D AND NS OFFICERS ARE THERE TO PICK HIM UP” he wrote strongly on Facebook.
This follows after the former parliamentary aspirant for the Adenta constituency in Accra and a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alfred Ababio Kumi, popularly known as Adenta Kumi petitioned President John Dramani Mahama to dissolve the committee probing the petitions, asking that Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo should be removed from office.
His reason was that, last week, two members of the committee, together with counsel for one of the petitioners, were seen having dinner at a restaurant in Accra where they were overheard discussing matters in the petition over dinner.
According to the petitioner, that meeting and the discussions of the matter over dinner, undermine the integrity and credibility of the ongoing inquiry.
His argument is that, it will be good for the committee to be dissolved so that the process does not become a “sham” especially when he claims counsel for one of the petitioners, was overheard discussing the matter with two members of the committee at the restaurant.
He went ahead yesterday to leak the alleged CCTV footage of the meeting which has since gone viral.
