Pastor urges Ghanaians to remain committed to the truth and support president John Dramani Mahama’ to develop the economy

As Ghana ushers in a new year, a prominent religious leader has called for a renewed commitment to truth and collective support for President John Dramani Mahama’s initiatives to the nation’s economy.

Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr Head Pastor of the Association of Seventh Day Pentecostal Assemblies in Kumasi emphasized the critical role of national unity and ethical conduct in achieving progress.

Speaking to journalists during the church’s general annual meeting at Esereso Feyiase on Saturday January 3rd 2026, Elder Ofori disclosed that the success of President Mahama’s vision for transforming Ghana hinges on the collective backing of the citizenry.

He stated that when Ghanaians wholeheartedly support the President and his Ministers in their official responsibilities they would be empowered to deliver on their promises and expectations.

Elder Ofori Jnr expressed his gratitude for divine protection and guidance throughout the past year while simultaneously highlighted the responsibility of individuals to act as constructive citizens rather than national wreckers.

He stressed the Biblical imperative for believers to set positive examples and actively contribute to the development of their communities rather than hindering progress.

This he explained translates to demonstrate good manners and prioritizing the welfare of the nation.

The spiritual leader also pointed out the importance of recognizing and respecting leadership roles across various sectors including traditional authorities and opinion leaders.

However Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr specifically emphasized the need to acknowledge and support the President as the Head of State.

He urged Ghanaians to offer prayers for divine guidance to ensure effective leadership that would benefit all.

With this agenda, Elder Ofori advised that one needs to avoid discrimination, partisan politics or any suspicious tendencies that could set back development.

If through our prayers and support the country develops the benefits will be for all regardless of political affiliation, he noted.

Looking ahead to 2026 he described it as an action year for progress and development as he implored Ghanaians to set aside their differences

Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr encouraged a comprehensive assessment of past mistakes for corrective measures and urged active participation in revitalizing the country for a collective good.

We should also put politics behind us and prioritize the country’s development for all.

Concluding his message he called for a united front focus on national progress.
