The Founder and Leader of the Mo Mary Fellowship in Kumasi, Rev. David Armstrong has strongly urged President John Dramani Mahama to firmly reject appeals from certain quarters particularly some pastors who have been pushing for the immediate release of Nana Okomfo-Osofo Agradaa.
These calls according to Armstrong are attempting to link Agradaa’s 15-year imprisonment to the tragic August 6 plane crash disaster.
In an exclusive interview, Pastor Armstrong unequivocally described as fallacy about any notion that the recent plane crash had a link to Agradaa’s incarceration.
He emphasized that Agradaa was tried by a competent court of law and found guilty under the laws of the country, asserting that her imprisonment was as a result of due legal process and not a force imprisonment.
Questioning the motives behind those who are advocating for her release, Pastor Armstrong challenged the use of the scripture to “reverse the law where in his view, God the creator of the world believe in law and cast away the Satan from His Kingdom following its rebellion act against God will.
He indicated that certain alleged criminal syndicate calling themselves as pastors who secretly operate with Agradaa have been surfacing to put fear in the government to release Agradaa and labeled such calls to be treated with contempt
Armstrong mincing no words stated that Agradaa is a criminal been tried by the court and jailed and nothing more.
He challenged critics to consider Agradaa’s contribution to the nation asking what that Okomfo-Osofo Agradaa was contributing to the development of the country apart from her fraudulent activities?.
He further questioned Is Agradaa above the law? asserting that if a criminal like her were to be freed then of course all other criminals in the prison must be released amidst treating the laws of Ghana with contempt.
He added that even if Agradaa had contributed to national development the law has caught up with her and it would be only criminals and those who disregard the laws would demand Agradaa’s release.
Addressing the spurious link between the Obuasi military aircraft crash and Agradaa’s imprisonment Armstrong demanded what about the Kenya aircraft crash disaster?
So should the Kenyan government free criminals following their plane crush?.
He reiterated that as a country everything can happen and that attributing such incidents to a legal conviction is absolutely baseless.
Pastor Armstrong concluded by urging President Mahama and all Ghanaians to treat with contempt lawlessness pastors who wanted to use false claims to threaten government to release Agradaa.
He firmly reiterated that Agradaa is a criminal been tried by the and jailed and nothing more so the noise must be stopped, cautioning against allowing fear-mongering to undermine the nation’s legal framework.
