Information reaching our publishing house indicates that two factions led by Pastor Micaiah Addai and Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr respectively have agreed to carry out the Court of Appeal and High Court in Kumasi which ordered the conduct of elections for the appointment of substantive president of the Association.

The recent impetus for this reconciliation stems from a series of three decisive court rulings in favor of Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr and his supporters who are the Plaintiffs in the case.

The Kumasi High Court and the Court of Appeal delivered judgments on December 18th 2025, February 11th, 2026 and March 11th, 2026 respectively signaling a turning point in the long standing conflict.

Following these verdicts both factions were granted a period of one to six months to prepare for their presidential elections.

However in a dramatic move following a series of legal setbacks Micaiah Addai and his group (Defends)have informed their opponents of their readiness to hold a meeting with them on Thursday 19th March 2026 to initiate steps towards the conduct of the elections.

In response to this welcome development Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr and his group (Plaintiffs) have also written back agreeing to the said meeting.

Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr spokesperson for the victorious plaintiffs side has expressed optimism about the breakthrough stating in a press release dated March 18th 2026 that he looks forward to maximum cooperation between the two court -appointed managers for the Association namely Elder Yaw Fosuhene ( representing Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr and his group) and Elder Akwasi Acheampong( on the side of Micaiah Addai’s group)

The spokesperson further emphasized that to ensure a smooth and successful electoral process both factions are expected to convene at the Ashanti Regional office of the Electoral Commission (EC) for crucial deliberations and documentary scrutiny.

We thank God for this deal because the factions are now smoking the pipe, Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr declared in the release, expressing relief at the prospect of ending the protracted conflict.

The press release also provided a historical context for the dispute.

According to the church’s constitution regular elections are mandated to appoint a new president to oversee the affairs of the Association.

The tenets of the constitution explicitly prohibit interference from family members in the presidential election as the church is considered to represent God alone.

The controversy reared its ugly face in 2008 following the passing of the Founder and President, Elder Enoch Ofori Snr in 2007.

Micaiah Addai a nephew of the late President is alleged to have circumvented the church’s constitution by assuming the presidency without holding a mandatory elections.

This action the release stated led Elder Enoch Ofori Jnr and his group to initiate legal proceedings in 2008, seeking to uphold the lawful election of leadership as stipulated in the church’s constitution.

With the promise of unity, stability and uninterrupted worship on the horizon the release concludes with a call on believers and all peace loving Ghanaians to support the successful conduct of these upcoming elections to mark a significant step towards reconciliation and renewed spiritual leadership for the Association of 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies.

Stay tuned.
