Pentecost Elder supports widows

The Puresiding Elder of the Dunkwa Beposo Pentecost church in the Central Region, Dr Evans Bukuro over the weekend presented clothes, bags of rice, cooking oils and tins of sardines to 50 women as part of his social responsibilities to raise the living standards of the women within the Ministry.

Besides the gesture the learned doctor further provided well furnished accommodation for 10 barren women in Dunkwa.

That was not all, the Elder, Dr. Evans Bukuro also donated free sewing machines and startup kits for the unemployed youth of the church to learn a trade as part of his plans to alleviate poverty that tend to be a big challenge for the youth.

Presenting the items he called on the well meaning Ghanaians,  individuals and cooperate organisations to support the needy in the society.

On the occasion the leader of the Women’s Ministry of the Dunkwa District Church of Pentecost in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality, Deaconess Mrs. Regina Bukuro, advised women to be proactive and see themselves as a precious assets created by God to support their husbands.

Deaconess Bukuro, who is the wife of Elder Dr. Evans Bukuro, underscored that it is incumbent on women to explore the various business opportunities and assist their husbands in the running of the home in order not to be a burden to the husbands alone.

She said it is unacceptable for women to sit idle at homes and wait for their husbands to provide everything for the family in the face of the numerous opportunities to make money to support their husbands.

Mrs. Bukuro who also doubles as the Senior Nurse at the Dunkwa Government hospital made the contribution at a programe organised by the Womens Ministry of Dunkwa Church of Pentecost to support mothers and widows to mark the ‘Mothers Day celebration.

She admonished women to changed their mindsets and stop assuming that their husbands had to provide all their needs.

Referring to the book of Genesis 2:18 which said “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will provide him a helper to meet his needs, Deaconess Bukuro noted that it is time women should learn new skills and add value to themselves to support the family.

The Deaconess said when an ideal woman focuses on playing her role as a helper, she experiences her greatest sense of self-worth and makes the man feels comfortable in taking decisions to keep the home.
