Inspector Ahmed Twumasi a police officer stationed at the Kumasi Manhyia branch of the Ghana Police Service had a surprising shock of his life on Friday October 24 when the Supreme Court in Kumasi sentenced him to life imprisonment.
His sentence came to bare when he was found guilty of a 2023 murder case in which he ( Twumasi) was implicated to have shot and killed his girlfriend Victoria Dapaah, also known as Maadwoa at Adum in Kumasi.
Her Ladyship Mrs. Rosemary Baah Tosu delivered the judgment on Friday October 24 2025 at the High Court in Kumasi.
The verdict followed a 5-2 votes by a seven-member jury.
Background of the case:
The murder occurred in April 20, 2023 at Adum Kumasi.
Victoria Dapaah was found
dead as he was alleged to have been shot multiple times at Adum in Kumasi.
Inspector Ahmed Twumasi a SWAT bodyguard stationed at the Manhyia Police station had since the incident became the prime suspect.
During the trial Twumasi denied being in a romantic relationship with Victoria Dapaah claiming that she was just a friend.
He disputed evidence presented by the prosecution including claims that the affair had caused marital problems and that he had used his service weapon a Norico pistol, in the killing.
He also contested the circumstances of his arrest, claiming that he had voluntarily reported himself to the police
Rather than being apprehended as
claimed by the prosecution.
He repeatedly asserted his innocence, stating that he don’t know nothing about the death and what he said was the truth.
Despite his denials and claims of innocence he was sentenced to life imprisonment when court proceedings became a clear evidence that the policeman indeed was the culprit who killed Victoria Dapaah
In a brief interviews with the deceased family, the Head of the family Abusuapanin Nana Addo Barima and the deceased mother they praised the court for the justice done to them.
They were hopeful that the court would continue to show to others the same justice shown to shown to them to scare wrongdoers to refrain from thier.

They were also not happy about what they termed as unfortunate and untimely death of the deceased and prayed that God will keep her soul in perfect peace.
