Apostle Kwaku Appiah, Head Pastor of the Faith Outreach Ministries in Kumasi Oforikrom has admonished what he termed as political prophets to realign their prophetic endeavors with the true purpose of glorifying God rather than engaging in the dissemination of false prophecies.
Apostle Appiah directly accuses Ghanaian politicians of fostering this trend by pampering these individuals.
This is because many politicians wrongfully believes that by consulting these charlatans who usually gives them handkerchiefs and apples can solve their problems.
Speaking to the correspondent in an interview, Apostle Appiah expressed concern over a burgeoning phenomenon where the word of God has of late found its way into the hands of people who are aimed at bringing down the Kingdom of God for their own personal interest.
He described the current state of prophecy within Christian circles as dangerous and disgraceful to the noble profession of the priesthood.
His concerns were particularly ignited by the predictions and pronouncements that emerged from various camps of bishops and prophets surrounding the recent NPP presidential race.
Apostle Appiah characterized these electoral predictions of both defeat and victory as unfortunate and misleading, highlighting that in his observation no electoral predictions from these so called bishops and prophets have proven accurate during periods like Christmas and national elections.
The crux of Apostle Appiah’s worry lies in the stark contrast between these self proclaimed prophets and the esteemed church leaders from denominations such as Pentecost, Methodist, Assemblies of God, Deeper Life, and the Roman Catholic Church.
He pointed out that these leading churches and their respected pastors are never seen engaging in political fortune telling or falsely prophesying.
He posed a rhetorical question: Are those olitical prophets and Bishops wanted to tell Ghanaians that those pastors in the aforementioned leading churches don’t believe in prophecies or God never reveals anything to them?”
According to Apostle Appiah the claims by these political bishops of possessing prophetic talents or being all knowing are outright lies.
He views these pronouncements as an attempt to put fear and panic into their followers to gain cheap popularity.
The Apostle emphasized the need for a return to spiritual integrity:
It is time we should believe the true word of God and teach our followers the path to salvation instead of deceptive miracles and prophecies that divert one’s attention from the righteous ways.
The respected man of God voiced out his personal shame regarding the recent NPP elections, stating My brother I feel so much ashamed as a pastor when prophecy upon prophecies against Bawumia victory and victories predicted for Kennedy Agyepong by several Bishops and prophets never came true.
Apostle Kwaku Appiah stressed that no one can take the name of God in vain asserting that the recent NPP elections clearly indicate that God has started to expose false prophets in the midst of Ghanaians without any questions.
Apostle Appiah further advised Ghanaians to re evaluate their approaches to seek divine intervention, urging them to refrain from the act where they seek miracles and wonders from pastors during worship sessions reminding them that no bishop nor prophet is powerful except the Lord.
He concluded by stating that the current state of affairs within the priesthood is not from God, rather it is an orchestrated plot from those false prophets who wanted to gain fame under the cover of the Scriptures to deceive people.”
