Remove Wontumi from the chairmanship seat of Ashanti Npp to help restore the damaging image of the party- Npp Activists.
Information reaches this website from the Npp stronghold, Ashanti region indicates that supporters of the party are angry with the party’s chairman, Wontumi for his alleged arrogant lifestyle in the region.
Which according to them are deeply soiling the reputation of the party.
The party stalwarts observed that until chairman Wontumi is made to step down, the attractiveness and popularity of the regional party would remained stalled for a very long time to come.
A cross section of party activists who spoke to the correspondent registered their disappointment in Wontumi stressing that the conduct of Bernard Antwi Bosiako in the region cannot help Npp to win the December 7 general elections if Wontumi is allowed to be at post.
Party supporters linked their points to the alleged loose talks and act of bringing down the authority of Asantehene before the public without any provocation by Wontumi.
Gradually the party is losing its value in the region through the activities of chairman Wontumi and this should be served as a sign of the defeat of the Npp in the upcoming polls
Ashanti region, they said is the source of the party’s strength and that if we allowed one man to take the party’s destiny for granted then Npp should prepare itself to go into opposition.
To avert the looming defeat ahead of the Npp in the upcoming polls the supporters are earnestly appealing to the National executive members of the party to as a matter of urgency withdraw chairman Wontumi from office as the party’s regional chairman for Ashanti.
Chairman Wontumi needs to respect the traditional authorities and respect the rule of laws in the country, since his alleged vicious attacks on Asantehene are grossly unacceptable.
