Residents within Kwadaso Municipal Assembly threatening demonstration against Mce over damaged bridges.
The residents of Kumasi Tanoso, Pokukrom and Anhwiankwanta within the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly have been jointly planning to embark on a demonstration against the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Agyenim Boateng if his outfit failed to maintain some damaged bridges which have made vehicular movement in the area to become difficult for them.
They mentioned a bridge which links Tanoso-Pokukrom road which is completely collapseed and another badly damaged bridge also linking Anhwiankwanta-Pokukrom road.
According to well informed sources the collapse of the two bridges have been making life unbelievable to the residents as they could hardly bring out out their farm produce to the urban areas for sale to make ends meet.
It was gathered that the challenges have been channelled to the Assemblymembers for the area for attention but no fruitful results tend to be forthcoming.
The people stated that what is triggering the demonstration is the fact that they would soon enter into the rainy season, where their challenges cannot be controlled.
Hence the intended demonstration if the Assembly fails to act.
The Assemblymembers for the area could not be reached for their side versions, but reacting to the issue the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Agyenim Boateng confirmed that he was very much aware of the problems.
I can say with authority that the downward trend of the projects are not deliberate as are doing our best to restore the challenge.
He said the contractor of the projects Justmo Construction Company was on the process of executing the projects when management was confronted with financial challenges, making them to stop work.
The Mce said currently the Assembly cannot finance the projects expect the intervention of the Urban Roads.
He insisted that his outfit has been actively engaging in meetings with the Urban Roads to address the issue.
The Assembly is well focused and determined to solve the challenges as soon as funds are made available, Hon Agyenim Boateng told the Correspondent.
