The residents of Domeabra, Tamaklo and Nyame-Tease communities in the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal of the Western Region have expressed worry over lack of social amenities in the area.
With these uncomfortable development they are calling on the authorities to come to their aid so that they could get rid of their suffering.
Speaking to the correspondent in an interview the residents lamented that despite several appeals to the Municipal Assembly on the urgent need to provide them with basic amenities, nothing has been done to salvage the communities from their challenges.
They particularly talked about the lack of roads, hospitals, school buildings and water as those facilities that have been their headaches.
They stressed that the Municipal Assembly has failed to provide the communities with the aforementioned essential amenities even at a time a new administration has taken over the functions of the Municipal Assembly.
Nana Kwasi Allou chief of Wassa Mangoase a town within the Municipality expressed bitterly that the most serious and risky aspects of their situation are about their damget bridees
He said motorbikes run across three big rivers on a single timber used as bridges.
Adding that this situation poses a death traps but no attention has been given to the damaged bridges.
And it appears we have been neglected in the provision of basic facilities hence my appeal for government intervention.
On his part another chief Nana Kwame Fori of Wassa Domeabra, posited that the absence of health facilities in these communities has worsened the situation.
Insisting that in case of emergencies where a patient is referred from the Domeabra CHIPS compound to Wassa Akropong Hospital, the only available means of transport is the use of a motorbike.
Sick persons, including women in labour are forced to use motorbikes .
We are therefore calling on the Assembly and the government to assist us in completing our abandoned CHIPS Compound, which is at 60% completion.
