Rev Minister calls for swift dismissals to combat corruptions and indiscipline in government

Very Rev. Anthony Kwarteng, the Founder and Leader of the Christ Power Miracle Mission Church in Dome-Kwabenya, Accra, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to take decisive action against corruption and indiscipline within his administration.

Rev. Kwarteng believes that summarily dismissing corrupt and undisciplined government appointees without fear or favor is crucial for President Mahama’s success and his legacy.

The clergyman emphasized that some officials tend to abuse their power once in office, leading to a breakdown in accountability and ethical conduct.

He specifically highlighted concerns within the Ghana Education Service (GES), alleging that corruption, pride, and indiscipline are rampant.

He stated that previous administrations under Akuffo Addo allowed these issues to fester within the GES, and that the problems persist and require immediate attention.

Rev. Kwarteng further alleged that certain Regional Directors, Accountants, Headmasters, and Bursars within the GES operate as if they are above the law, harassing junior staff and disregarding the fact that their salaries are funded by the taxes of ordinary Ghanaians.

“It is time for President John Dramani Mahama to rise up and stop such corrupt officials who think they are above the laws,” Rev. Kwarteng stated.

“It is time for action because Ghana needs development.”

The Reverend Minister, drawing on his faith and understanding of President Mahama’s character, asserted that the President is inherently honest. Therefore, he felt compelled to deliver the “hard truth” in order to safeguard the government and ensure progress for the nation.

He believes that swift dismissals of those found to be engaging in corrupt and indisciplined practices will send a strong message and pave the way for a more accountable and effective government.
