Save Ghana Movement Urges Ghanaians to Reject Delegates’ Choices in the Presidential Candidates elections of political parties.

The Save Ghana Movement, a pro non governmental youth organization based in Accra in the Greater Accra region, advocates for a fundamental shift in Ghanaian politics.

The Movement asserts that Ghanaians should refrain from endorsing any presidential or political candidates chosen by delegates by any political party in the country.

The group stated that the position is rooted in the belief that, for the past 32 years of the country’s democratic rule, these delegates have been susceptible to bribery from aspirants within political parties vying for the coveted role of flag bearer.

According to the Convener of the Movements, Mr Robert Andzie Ansah who spoke i1n a telephone interview with the correspondent, the delegates consequently cast their votes without genuine considerations for the nation’s progress and welfare as they prioritize their gains instead.

This situation he underscored qaààààcreates the notion that the so-called delegates are primarily motivated by self-interest by neglecting the broader interests of the country.

Robert Andzie Ansah indicated that the trend has persisted because these delegates are confident in their political influence and their ability to secure benefits.

Regrettably, he opined that the nation’s development has suffered as Ghanaians appear to have given in to a sense of complacency, consistently opting for candidates based on party affiliations rather than their qualifications and commitment to the country’s welfare.

On the contrary, the very citizens who lament over poor leadership contributes to the country’s stagnation by allowing party loyalty to override merit.

Andzie observed that a nation’s prosperity depends on the quality of its citizens, and Ghana is no exception.

He stressed that the prevailing system forces potential leaders to align with political parties to secure votes, thereby prioritizing party interests over the country’s needs.

As a result, those who complain about inadequate leadership qualities are often the same individuals perpetuating the country’s challenges.

Robert Andzie Ansah related that it is the corrupt citizens that begets Corrupt Leaders, adding that Save Ghana anticipates for a better future, hence the call on Ghanaians especially the political party delegates to always choose a right leader with a sense of direction and not a person who would use financial enticements to wreck the economy when power is transfered to him.
