Self-styled church president accused in foiled “hidden gold” scheme with shrine. owner faces spiritual warning

Kumasi, Ghana – Pastor Macaiah Akwasi Addai, who styles himself as the ‘President’ of the Association of 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies in Adiebeba, Kumasi, is once again embroiled in controversy, this time over an alleged attempt to unearth ‘hidden family gold’ with the assistance of a powerful shrine owner ( jujuman ) Alhaji Adams of Konongo Zongo in the Ashanti region .

The incident comes amidst a backdrop of ongoing legal battles and a string of other serious allegations that have kept the pastor in the headlines for the past two years.

According to sources, Pastor Addai reportedly engaged a jujuman from Ashanti Konongo Zongo for a clandestine operation at his family residence in Jachie, off the Lake Bosomtwe road.

,The alleged mission: to excavate a hidden family gold stash. The pastor who reportedly kept the deal secret from family members managed to perform rituals with the jujuman after making a partial payment for the extraction services.

However the agreement stipulated full payment before the actual digging could be commenced. Pastor Addai allegedly violated this pact by seeking assistance from another source, an act that is said to have incurred the “wrath of the jujuman.

Compelled to return, Addai reportedly settled his outstanding debt, but the gold excavation never took place.

Instead, sources revealed that the pastor has been sternly warned by the jujuman to “keep off from the family gold or face the consequences from gods spiritually.

This latest revelation adds to a long list of serious allegations that have plagued Pastor Addai for the past two years, making him a consistent headline across social media platforms, newspapers, and airwaves.

His controversies reportedly range from the snatching of church members’ wives and involvement in fake gold deals to land litigations and ongoing legal battles over church leadership.

Just two years ago, Pastor Addai was reportedly duped out of GHc25,000 in a fake gold deal involving an individual known as Komfo Nyamekye. Nyamekye allegedly promised to transmute precious stones into gold but absconded with the funds, leading to a significant drop in Pastor Addai’s church attendance.

Furthermore, the Manhyia Palace intervened in a separate incident around the same time, ordering Pastor Addai to pay a compensation of GHc25,000 after he was found guilty of snatching a church member’s wife.

Adding to his woes, Pastor Addai’s claim to the presidency of the Association of 7th Day Pentecostal Assemblies remains fiercely contested, with the matter currently before a competent court in Kumasi.

The final verdict from the judges will determine the legitimacy of his self-styled title.

As these contentious legal and personal battles continue to unfold, Pastor Macaiah Akwasi Addai finds himself in an increasingly precarious position, with his reputation seemingly spiraling amidst a series of sensational allegations and now, a spiritual warning.
