Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu
Member of Parliament for Suame constituency has at long last resigned from the parliament after 28 solid years of rendering service to the country.
After over three decades in office, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has announced that he will not seek reelection.
In a recent interview, the majority leader in parliament stated that given his age and the amount of terms he has served, it is time for him to leave the chamber.
In response to a query about whether or not he will serve in the 9th Ghanaian Parliament once more, he stated that he would. “I have expressed it plainly that, per my age, I will stop it here and offer my thanks,” he declared unequivocally.
According to him, though some leaders in his party are calling for him to return to the house in 2025, he has not thought of going back.
“People in my party both region and national are calling and insisting that they need me but as at this time talking to you. I have spoken and made my stance clear”, he revealed.
Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu while arguing on why he may not seek reelection stated that, “you bow out when the applause is loud”.
“I know the pressure that has come on me, but we are not going to discuss it on radio, we will talk about it later”, he noted.
