Techiman South Mayor issues stern warning: Observe environmental laws or face prosecution.

Residents within the
Techiman South Municipality in the Bono Eas Region have been put on notice: strict adherence to sanitation and environmental laws are no longer optional.

Hon. Kweku Adjei Mensah, the Municipal Mayor has issued a resolute warning, stating that his administration will not hesitate to prosecute offenders with no room for intervention.

The Mayor delivered this strong message on September 13, during an address to a large crowd of Techiman residents who had enthusiastically participated in the Assembly’s organized clean up exercise.

He underscored the critical importance of observing sanitation and environmental rules as a fundamental guide to sustaining public health.

My administration would not tolerate sanitation and environmental law breakers, Mayor Adjei Mensah declared emphatically.

We are ready to hand over offenders to the law enforcement agencies for prosecution and let it be known that no one would be allowed to intervene on behalf of the offenders to be set free.

The Mayor highlighted that the Assembly’s comprehensive sanitation and environmental program is a direct initiative stemming from President John Dramani Mahama’s vision.

The program’s core aim is to maintain a pristine environment, thereby curbing the spread of diseases within communities. Offenders would not be spared he warned, reinforcing the gravity of the municipality’s commitment to environmental integrity.

Since cleanliness is next to godliness it is a collective responsibility for all Ghanaians to help clean our environment.

The clean up exercise itself showcased a commendable spirit of community participation.

A diverse array of groups joined forces to ensure a cleaner Techiman South.

Among those present were dedicated staff from the Assembly, various youth groups, civil service organizations, industrious traders, the revered Bonokyemplm, energetic fan clubs, and representatives from numerous ethnic groups residing in the area, all demonstrating a shared commitment to a healthier, more organized municipality.

With this stern directive from the Municipal Mayor, Techiman South residents are urged to strictly adhere to environmental and sanitation regulations.

The message is unequivocal: proactive compliance is the only path to a healthier community and avoiding the full force of the law.
