Tension rise in Npp as Bryan Acheampong sues Npp amidst growing factionalism amidst conflicts

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is facing growing internal tensions as conflict brews among senior party members. At the heart of the controversy is Bryan Acheampong, a notable figure in the party, who has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the NPP’s National Executive Committee (NEC). His legal action has stirred significant debate and cast a spotlight on issues of leadership, fairness, and rising factionalism within the ruling party.

Acheampong is said to be challenging certain internal disciplinary processes and decisions he believes violated the party’s constitution or were politically charged. Though full details of the case remain undisclosed, insider reports suggest that his concerns revolve around flaws in procedure and the lack of due process by the NEC.

In a related matter, a female party activist widely known as the “Jandam Lady” has also come under disciplinary action by party authorities. While her case hasn’t attracted as much public attention, it has sparked heated discussions online and within party ranks. Sources suggest her punishment may be tied to outspoken remarks she made about some party leaders or to her controversial style of mobilization at the grassroots level.

Together, these incidents have highlighted growing divisions in the party. Some see Acheampong’s move as a push for internal reform and transparency, while others worry it may deepen rifts as the party approaches key political events.
In response, senior members of the NPP are urging calm and unity, encouraging all sides to settle differences through internal dialogue rather than public disputes. As tensions rise, the party now faces a serious challenge to maintain internal stability while safeguarding its reputation and electoral chances
