ecretary for the Economic Management Team (EMT), Professor Joseph Tuffour has has been alleged to have sent thugs to vandalize Abedwum palace near New Edubiase in the Adanse South District of the Ashanti region.
According to report gathered by our crack investigative team , the thugs also made away with 600-year old black stools that have been kept at the palace.
Speaking to the correspondent in an interview the head of the Oyoko Royal family, Abusuapanin Kwaku Asare, explained further that, the thugs came to the town to cause fear and panic.
The thugs it was alleged linked their presence and actions to the influence of Professor Amoako Tuffour who was recently distooled by New Edubiasehene on various charges.
According to the Abusuapanin, the thugs who include machomen, police and National Security officers were said to have taken the laws into their own hands by firing warning shots in the Abedwum community.
This comes after the Divisional Chief of the New Edubiase Divisional Council had destooled the Professor as Abadwumhene of the community.
The distoolment action was taken after the Edubiasehene charged Nana Professor Amoako Tuffour with three counts of misconduct.
According to New Edubiase, Edubiasehene Oguahyia Oduro Panin Birikorang, the destooled Abadwumhene had used his influence to create divisions within the family which has now has three factions.
Abusuapanin Kwaku Asare called on the ancestors to unleash their wrath against Prof. Joe Amoako Tuffour.
On her part, the Queen Mother of Abedwum, Nana Konadu Achiaa Yiadom III also stated that Prof. Amoako Tuffour has abused his powers, as a political actor and a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to her, the distooled Abedwumhene must be punished by the ancestors.
She therefore called on His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and other paramount Chiefs within the Ashanti Kingdom to intervene on their behalf.
