Top pastor tasks government to establish Ministry of Religious Affairs to help sanitize the religious sector.
Founder and leader of the Mo Mary Fellowship sited at Kumasi Ampayoo in the Ashanti region, Rev David Armstrong has as a matter of national interest, appealed to the government to set up, Ministry of Religious Affairs and task it with responsibilities that could help sanitize the religious sector in the country.
Speaking to the Correspondent in an interview, Rev David Armstrong expressed deep regret about the manner in which the work of the priesthood have been overtaken by the quaks in the recent times.
The clergy said the word of God has been cheapened to the extent that even a mad man can just pick a Bible and called himself as a pastor.
They have no training nor practical experience from anywhere yet because of money force themselves as pastors though the work of God is not all about money, the Reverend minister explained.
He decried about the tendency where these so called pastors prioritize monetary gains in their administrations instead of their core mandate to teach the true word of God and win souls for the Lord.
The man of God observed further that magicians who were formerly seen in the society are non existence today as they have all joined in the fray of the priesthood faking signs, wonders and miracles to deceive and amass wealth.
Rev David Armstrong related that God has spoken about what will happen in the last days about false prophets, and as a nation, government need to be proactive and quickly discourage the activities of suspicious pastors to enhance national development.
The clergy noted that a true man of God can be seen by his deeds, but today pastors embark on competitions, preside over false doctrines, believers in material things and among all forms of crimes to the detriment of the scriptures.
Rev David Armstrong also attributed the crime wave in the country to the attitudes of many pastors who in most cases teaches their members on wealth creation principles on a wrongful motive.
The clergy reiterated that if his message is considered and given the necessary attention, it would go a long way to sanitize the priesthood to help build a strong and solid economy.
