Vote Allan Cash for positive change as Npp/Ndc’s are straws who have nothing positive to offer Ghanaians:
Solomon Owusu writes from Oti region:
Ghanaian voters would have been the most confused voters on the 7th of December 2024 but for the intervention of Mr.Alan Kyerematen, the leader and founder of the Movement for Change and the nominated presidential aspirant of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC).
The confusion stems from the fact that both political parties seem to govern from the same source document hence committing the same mistakes.
It is interesting how the Ndc thinks all of a sudden, the Ghanaian will entrust the destiny of the country into their hands simply because the Npp is not only messing up but also
have no business being in government.
The ndc was booted out of power because of the following reasons.
Firstly, at the time of leaving office, inflation was hovering around 15.4%.The high inflation rate caused most businesses to fold up leaving more Ghanaians impoverished.
The exchange rate regime under John Mahama was also another factor that caused his electoral defeat. The ndc administration under the leadership of Professor Mills and John Mahama took the exchange rate particularly the dollar from $1 is to Ghc1.By the time the ndc was leaving power in 2016,it was $1 is to Ghc4.2.This depreciation of the cedi did not go down well with many Ghanaians hence their voting against the ndc.
Bank of Ghana policy rate under John Mahama was also not encouraging.Ghana was doing close to 27% policy rate by 2016 under John Mahama and Ghanaian businesses hardly could grow because of this ridiculous interest rate. This policy rate of the bank of Ghana became one hell of a factor that made the business community furious with the John Mahama administration hence voting against him.
The fuel politics of the country also came to play.At the end of 2016,a gallon of diesel was going for Ghc14 as against Ghc 4 cedis that Prof.Mills /John Mahama inherited from the KUFUOR administration. In terms of the increment,it had increased more than 200%.With transport fares going up intermittently, the consuming public did not take kindly to this development hence voting against the John Mahama administration.
Corruption and Arrogance of power was very much evident in John Mahama’s administration.Young men and women who hitherto had never worked before all of a sudden started putting up buildings in plush areas of Ghana especially Accra to the anger of many hence leading to the massive defeat of the Ndc.
It must be noted that many more factors contributed to the defeat of John Mahama in 2016.The Npp campaigned on the premise that it will improve on all the governance indicators enumerated for which reason Ghanaians gave them an overwhelming endorsement in 2016.
The current indicators however suggest that Ghanaians were scammed by the Npp on their promises. For instance Inflation that was 15.4% which Ghanaians were very much upset about is currently 25.8%.Policy rate that was 27% under John Mahama is now 29%,a gallon of diesel that was Ghc14 is now Ghc67,cedi to the dollar which was $1 is to Ghc 4.2 under John Mahama is now $1 is to Ghc14.05.
It is also important to stress that both parties have visited dumsor on Ghanaians and also taking Ghanaians to the IMF for which reason ridiculous taxes as well as public sector employment freeze have been implemented.
Arrogance of power and corruption under this Nana Addo administration will pass for a first class.
Clearly the NPP’S performance has been very very poor and the country has to immediately make new laws to ban the party from partaking in future elections.
The question that Ghanaians must ask is does the bad performance of the Npp automatically necessitate the coming back of the ndc when the Ndc’s own record was nothing to write home about and have also not shown how they will govern differently?
It will be catastrophic and unwise for Ghanaians to based on emotions return this country back to the ndc or maintain the npp. These two parties have shown that apart from plundering this country into hardship, they have no other policy alternatives.
It is therefore imperative that the country go into election 2024 with an open mind, analysing carefully the policy alternatives that each one is bringing. The Great Transformational Plan introduced by Hon.Alan Kyerematen is a cutting edge policy that is capable of dealing with the mountainous problems of the country. The Ghanaian must remember that it is a plan and not a mere promise. The focus on the private sector, the abhorrence of arrogance of power, the introduction of discipline by way of enforcing laws, the idea of making corruption an expensive enterprise and the rewarding of hard work goes to the root cause of establishing stability. With this said, the next thing is the various programs and policies of Alan.
A focus on Agriculture by any leader in this country is the tackling of the fundamentals of the economy and this Alan promises to invest heavily in it by way of research, technology, introduction of agronomist etc.
Industrialisation as a focus by Alan. The Great Transformational Plan also focuses on Industrialisation in all forms which will make use of the various raw materials available in the country.
Diversification of the economy from gold and cocoa to other crops and minerals and here palm plantation and salt as well as the textile industry will be heavily targeted.
Development of infrastructure and improvement in tourism framework is also very much catered for with the plan proposed by Alan.
It is therefore not enough for the Ghanaian to think that after 32 years of experimenting with Ndc and Npp,we can continue on the same tangent so the future of our kids will be put in jeopardy. It is time to try a candidate who has a Plan and at this moment, the only aspirant with a plan is Alan.
Together we will win and Ghana shall rise again.
