Wakeup call: Only 5% of Ghanaians know their true identity – Save Ghana Movement.

A startling revelation by the Save Ghana Movement has shaken the Connectghananews.com popular readers , exposing a glaring gap in Ghanaian identity and citizenship awareness.

According to the Save Ghana Movement’s research, a mere 5% of Ghanaians understand why they are Ghanaians, sparking concerns about the country’s future development.

The Save Ghana Movement, a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting citizen empowerment and good governance, conducted extensive research amidst discussions to arrive at this 5% disturbing conclusion.

In an exclusive telephone interview with our Ashanti regional correspondent, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Save Ghana Movement, Robert Andzie Ansah, emphasized the need for Ghanaians to understand their true identity and value.

“It’s alarming that many Ghanaians don’t know their true identity or value,” he said.

“This lack of self-awareness is leading to feelings of powerlessness and disconnection from the country’s development”, he added.

The Movement’s findings also highlighted the derogatory term “ordinary Ghanaians” often used by politicians to describe citizens.

This phrase, the CEO argues, perpetuates a sense of inferiority and reinforces the notion that those in power are superior to the average citizens.

In response to these findings, the Save Ghana Movement is urging Ghanaians to take ownership of their country’s development and demand better governance.

“Ghana is for me and you, it’s time for us to recognize our agency and responsibility in shaping the country’s future. We must value ourselves and demand that our leaders do the same. Our MPs sometimes think they’re doing us a favour” Robert Andzie stated.

He therefore called for action to resonate with many Ghanaians, to demand greater transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance.

“it’s time for Ghanaians to wake up and take control of their destiny”, he concluded
