Kennedy Agyapong is the game changer and that is why we all need to endorse him without delay, over 500 Npp delegates who allegedly has defected fro Dr Bawumia’s camp to join Kennedy Agyepong have disclosed.
A prominent group of delegates and supporters within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who previously aligned with the former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have made a shocking political shift, announcing their full support for fellow flagbearer aspirant Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
The group, known as the Zongo Caucus for Bawumia, comprises over 500 members nationwide.
The alleged defection move follows an earlier, controversial announcement made by the caucus that they were leaving the camp of former Vice president Dr Mahamoud Bawumia and would declare thier support for a new candidate after a period of careful reconsideration.
Alhaji Mohammed Gawo Chairman of the Caucus confirmed the decision to reporters and stated that the move was thoroughly considered after listening carefully to the ideas and visions presented by all aspirants in the race.
Gawo observed that Kennedy Agyapong is the best candidate the Caucus believes can lead the Npp to archive success in the 2028 elections.
Adding that nobody is forced them to take the decision.
We are more than 500 across the country and this is the final decision we have made.”
The initial announcement by the large bloc of the delegates had already generated widespread controversy and intense debate among party faithful.
Political analysts suggest that the decision by such a significant group is set to severely impact the campaign of the aspirant they ultimately choose to abandon.
The Caucus reiterated that their decision was thoroughly considered after listening to the aspirations of the candidates within the internal election and beyond.
