Agona Swedru set for economic boost. with groundbreaking of 24 hour ultra modern market complex

A significant step towards bolstering economic development and job creation in the Central Region took off on Thursday April 16th with a sod cutting ceremony for an ultra modern 24 hour market complex in Agona Swedru.

The project, a direct fulfillment of President John Dramani Mahama’s electoral campaign promises was officially launched by the Municipal Chief Executive for the Agona West Assembly Hon. Eric Gyamfi Odoom.

 

 

Addressing a jubilant crowd comprising traditional leaders, enthusiastic traders, and politicians, Hon. Gyamfi Odoom expressed his sincere appreciation for President Mahama’s commitment to deliver on his pledges to the people.

He emphasized that the transformative 24 hour market initiative is not an isolated project but it is part of a nationwide agenda to stimulate economic activity and create opportunities across the country with similar ventures already underway in other regions.

The sod cutting ceremony the Mce said signifies the commencement of the Agona Swedru project with the construction slated to begin in May 3rd in next month .

Hon. Gyamfi Odoom assured the community that the complex would be completed within the stipulated timeline and promised a state of the art facility that will serve as a hub for commerce and essential services.

Designed to be more than just a marketplace, the ultra modern complex will be equipped with a comprehensive array of facilities to cater for the needs of both traders and the wider community.

Plans include integrated clinics, banking services, a police station to ensure security, and basic schools, fostering a holistic development environment.

Furthermore the project is committed to a robust infrastructure development with the assurance of uninterrupted water and power supply for the seamless operation of a 24 hour market.

Hon. Gyamfi Odoom indicated that the market complex’sl role is in the government’s developmental agenda and promised the residents of Agona Swedru that they can anticipate further positive advancements.

In a firm, and yet encouraging address to the contractors awarded the construction project, the MCE issued a clear warning against any form of laxity or poor workmanship.

He stressed that any deviation from the required standards would not only jeopardize their contracts but could also lead to prosecutorial consequences.
