However the Npp stalwart who is identified as Mr. Johnson Appiah a mechanic by profession has indicated without a significant overhaul of the nation’s health delivery system, the entire “Reset” agenda would become meaningless.

Mr. Appiah said despite his party affiliation he finds it appropriate to acknowledge the potential of the president’s initiative.

He views the Reset Ghana policy as a promising blueprint for national development.

Yet he implore President Mahama to broaden his understanding of the term “Reset” beyond a simple economic reformation.

Appiah observed that Reset means more than just an economic adjustments and emphasized the need for a more comprehensive definition.

He firmly believes that for the policy to truly achieve its intended purpose prioritizing healthcare must be a cornerstone.

His concern is deeply rooted in the escalating environmental degradation that have plaguing the country particularly through the rampant activities of illegal mining popularly known as galamsey.

The opposition activist highlighted the devastating impact of these activities, noting that almost all of the country’s rivers, arable land, and forest reserves have been destroyed.

This destruction, he bemoaned has directly culminated to a widespread sickness across the nation and thereby forcing government to expend billions of cedis on treating its citizens..

The Npp supporter questioned the viability of the “Reset” program in the face of such pervasive health challenges.

He pointed to the growing issues of water scarcity and the alarming reports of Ghanaians being forced to drink unwholesome water due to persistent pollution.

With such challenges can the Reset program truly stand, he questioned and painted a grim picture of a nation struggling with basic necessities.

Mr. Appiah reiterated that the Reset Ghana agenda is ultimately intended for the benefit of Ghanaians.

However he posed a critical question: When the citizens have no good health what would be the results of the Reset Agenda.

This highlights his concern that a population burdened by ill health cannot fully participate in or benefit from any national development initiative.

Looking ahead Mr. Appiah urged President Mahama to adopt a more decisive approach to tackle the intensified galamsey menace.

He believes that stronger measures are needed to discourage illegal mining and protect the nation’s natural resources which are intrinsically linked to public health.

To help realize the Reset Agenda, Appiah urged President John Dramani Mahama to take more decisive steps than the current measures to discourage illegal mining to help him succeed in his administration.

In essence Appiah’s message is a call for a holistic approach to national progress.

This is because while acknowledging the ambition of the Reset Ghana policy, he insists that a healthy populace is the bedrock upon which any successful national agenda must be built on.
