Compassion in action: Peace Now extends helping hand to orphans and the needy in Kumasi

In a heart warming display of communal solidarity a Kumasi based non profit organization, Peace Now has demonstrated its commitment to the vulnerable by donating essential items and financial support to orphans and the less privileged.

On Thursday, August 22, 2028, the organization handed over 16 pieces of clothing, variety of assorted materials, pampers and an undisclosed sum of money to a popular Kumasi based radio station Oyerepa FM.
The station will serve as the conduit to distribute these items to the needy across the city.

Speaking to the correspondent in an exclusive interview after the donation, the Vice Chairperson of Peace Now, Madam Akosua Adjeiwaa emphasized that the initiative was born out of a desire to ensure that every member of the society irrespective of their circumstances can live a life of comfort and dignity.

 

 

She said Peace Now was established two years ago as a legal entity with a singular focus to look after the welfare of the needy and to provide a helping hand to members when they are in critical moments.

Madam Adjeiwaa stated that since the establishment of Peace Now the group has been a pillar of support which consistently prioritises the needs of the marginalised.

Madam Akosua Adjeiwaa assured that the organization would continue to uphold its principles to enhance peaceful coexistence in the society.

The organization’s commitment to welfare , she reiterated extends beyond charity; it is also deeply embedded in their internal operations.

Madam Adjeiwaa hinted that Peace Now has implemented a health focused initiative where, free annual insurance policies are provided for its members.

She took the opportunity to encourage the public to engage themselves with community driven groups, specifically advising citizens to join genuine organizations that prioritize the welfare of their members during critical times.

Receiving the donations on behalf of the beneficiaries, the renowned broadcaster and host Ante Naa expressed her deep gratitude to the leadership of Peace Now.

She asserted that the items received would be distributed transparently in line with the organization’s objectives.

  1. Addressing the broader public, Ante Naa issued a clarion call for individuals, corporate bodies and well meaning Ghanaians to emulate the “shining example” set by Peace Now and support the needy for the benefit of the society.
