The outcome of the story narrated that medical experts describe it as extremely rare and biologically uncommon has occurred at Kumasi Brofoyedru in the Ashanti Region, where a 55-year-old woman has given birth natrually to triplets after 25 years of marriage without a child.
The woman, identified as Linda Ampofo, a member of The Church of Pentecost in the Brofoyedru District in the Kwadaso Area, gave birth to triplets on January 13, 2026.
Family members and church leaders describe the birth as a miracle and an answer to years of prayer.
Having experienced miscarriages several times, mostly in her fourth month, with the final one occurring in 2014, she was confident God would intervene in her situation and grant her children of her own.
Despite not having children, Mrs Linda Ampofo continued to serve in the house of God as a devoted Christian. She was well-known for waking up early, tidying the church grounds, and consistently participating in church events and prayer gatherings, particularly at the Brofoyedru Central Assembly.
Being the firstborn of eight children, she was unaffected by her younger siblings’ private lives and the fact that they were all raising children. Instead, she continued to put her faith in God and found hope in His word, which was propagated from the pulpit at the church district’s weekly morning prayers known as “Emergency.”
“I was born into The Church of Pentecost. I was taught that the God who worked miracles in the olden days is still working today. That kept me strong. Despite my situation, I was not discouraged. I continued to serve God and support His work while waiting for my miracle. I never stopped praying, and my pastors and some church members kept encouraging me that God would answer me one day,” she recounted
Following years of endurance, she received encouragement from Church leaders not to abandon her faith but to trust God for a change, irrespective of her age.
Mrs Ampofo was informed about her pregnancy by the doctor during a visit to the hospital after she felt unwell.
“We were eight women believing God for children. Seven of them have had their babies, leaving me alone. Anytime I conceived, I lost the pregnancy. That was my biggest worry. I kept asking God in prayer what sin I had committed that He could not forgive, to bless me with even one child. But my pastors told me not to give up,” she said.
“Last year, when the doctor told me I was carrying three babies, I started shaking. I was very surprised. Even in my youthful years, I could not carry a pregnancy, so at age 55, I doubted it. I asked the doctor, ‘With which womb am I carrying three children?’ But truly, on 13th January, God had mercy on me and blessed me with these children,” Mrs Linda added.
She delivered triplets on January 13, 2026, and a naming ceremony was held at the Brofoyedru Central Auditorium on Sunday, July 6, 2026.
Together with her husband, Deacon Kwame Ampofo, Church leaders, family, friends and members of the Church of Pentecost, the new mother, adorned in white with gladness, glorified the name of God for the marvellous things done unto her.
Mrs Ampofo said God had finally shown her mercy, and expressed profound gratitude to God, as well as to the leadership and members of the church for their encouragement and prayers throughout her waiting period.
She encouraged other married women, particularly Christian women going through similar struggles, not to lose hope but to hold firmly to their faith in God. According to her, God is still faithful and will grant them their own testimonies in His appointed time.
Linda’s husband, Mr Kwame Ampofo, acknowledged God for being so dominant in their lives and granting them a special grace of faith to keep believing.
He disclosed that although he was sometimes discouraged as a married man without children, he was confident that God would reward them for diligently seeking Him at all times.
