A startling allegation has emerged from former Bono Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Director, Baba Amando, regarding Sharaf Mahama, the son of President John Dramani Mahama. According to Amando, Sharaf Mahama was able to mobilise a staggering $400 million to organise a boxing tournament shortly after his father won the elections. The claim, which has quickly gained traction on social media, raises serious questions about the source of the funds and the circumstances surrounding the event.

Baba Amando did not hold back in his assessment of the situation, alleging that the matter could lead to severe legal consequences. He specifically named potential charges including money laundering, wilfully causing financial loss to the state, and stealing. In his statement, Amando emphasised the gravity of the allegations, declaring that “no one can save him” from the impending legal scrutiny.
This phrase suggests a belief that the evidence or public outcry will be too significant for any political protection to shield the President’s son.
The allegation that such a massive sum was mobilised for a sporting event immediately after a national election victory has sparked intense debate.

Critics argue that the timing and the sheer scale of the funds warrant a thorough investigation to determine whether state resources were improperly used or if the money originated from illicit sources.
The mention of “wilfully causing financial loss to the state” implies a suspicion that public funds may have been diverted or mismanaged in the process.
As of now, there has been no official response from Sharaf Mahama or the Presidency regarding these allegations. However, Baba Amando’s claims have added a new layer of controversy to the political landscape, fueling demands for transparency and accountability.
The coming days are likely to see increased calls for an official probe into the matter as the public awaits further developments on this explosive revelations.
