Hon. Sakyi Michael the Assemblyman for the Mpatuom West Electoral Area in the Amansie West District is proving that visionary leadership is defined by initiative and not dependency.

Since assuming office just over a year ago, Hon. Sakyi Michael has been on a relentless mission to tackle multifaceted challenges facing his electorate.

His philosophy is simple yet profound: a leader must not wait for a “manna to fall from heaven” before acting on his mission.

I believe that as an Assemblyman I am duty bound to take the lead in project initiatives to realize my agenda, Hon. Michael stated.

If I want to leave a unique and lasting legacy I cannot afford to wait for grants that may take years to arrive while my people suffer.

Project Initiatives: Electrification and Infrastructure:
At the forefront of Hon. Sakyi Michael’s flagship projects is a massive drive to stabilize and expand the local power supply.

Recognizing that electricity is the backbone of modern economic activities, the Assemblyman has successfully acquired 200 light poles, three transformers and quantity of electrical cables where such materials are currently being utilized for a major electrification project which is nearing completion and official commissioning.

Beyond power supply Hon. Michael has further turned his attention to the area’s deplorable road network and presently carrying out road tarring and expansion project within Mpatuom township to ease traffic congestion and ensure free movement within a city having over ten thousand population.

While the expansion requires a difficult decision to demolish certain structures to pave way for wider roads, the Assemblyman handled the situation with empathy.

Speaking on behalf of the local traditional leadership and the Amansie West District Assembly which fully back the project, he offered a sincere apologies to the residents whose buildings were affected bytheexercise.

He emphasized that the exercise was not intentional but a necessary step towards the long term modernization of Mpatuom West.

Water and Health: Addressing the basic needs within the Electoral Area the Assemblyman reiterated that he has provided five ultra modern bolehole water facilities for the people through his own resources.

On healthcare sector, Hon. Michael cited the lack of adequate health facilities, noting that the single CHPS (Community based Health Planning and Services) currently serving over five different communities is notenough and even lacks facilities like laboratory, beds, maternity ward and nurses quarters and passionately jappealed for government intervention to upgrade the facility.

A Call for Unity and Communal Support:
Hon. Sakyi Michael stated that the ongoing projects and achievements were not won in a vacuum.

He credited the success of his first year tenure to the collaborative workwith his Unit Committee members, the people of Mpatuom WestElectoral and especially
the Chief of Mpatuom Nana Tia II and his elders
for their unwavering guidance and support.

Concluding the Assemblyman reminded his constituents that one head cannot make a council and passionately appealed to residents both at home and in abroad to contribute in cash or in kind to ongoing developmental projects for the benefit of all.
