Musicians Stand The Chance To Gain Respect If They Come Out With Songs That Can Transform The Society – Reggae Artiste.

Reacting to the conduct of some later days musicians in the country, a Kumasi based renowned reggae musician, Mr Jackson Elvis Etuah observed that musicians stand the greatest opportunities to be respected and recognized, if they are able to produce songs that could transform the society.

Speaking to the correspondent in an interview, Jackson Elvis Etuah who is the founder and leader of the Papa Jay Music & The Sikadwa Royals Band hinted that music production is a lucrative business, but certain personalities have infilterated it to paint the carrier black.

Papa Jay mentioned songs that have the tendency to pollute the society and the inability of such musicians behind to turn over a new leaf and correct themselves.

He said in the primitive days musicians in the country were well respected and recognized because they produced songs that were embraced by the society.

He cited gospel, reggae and highlife songs that focused on good deeds and had a touch to transform the people.

He cited the late Osenkafo Kwesi Anin of the “Ehurisi Bebe Israel fame”, late Nana Kwame Ampadu, the legend Easter Nyamekye among others who used their music talents to make impact in Ghana.

Today he said, profane songs from some quarters in the music industry are having negative impact in the country to such an extent that musicians are no longer respected, and thus leading to the blockages of assistance in the music industry.

To reverse the trend, hence the advise to those musicians to change the styles of their music productions to enhance the respect which the musicians command in the country.
