The Kumasi Ayiga Tech in the Ashanti Region branch of the Ghana Police Service is investigating a case in which some suspected armed robbers are alleged to have burgled a leading hotel at Ayiga, making away television sets, air conditioners, foam mattresses among others running into several millions of cedis.
At press time no arrest has been caused but credible source relates that one of the hotel staff, suspected to have hands in the deal is yet to be invited to assist the police in their investigations.
According to information gathered by our crack reporters, the incident allegedly took place in the night of January 2 this year 2023.
Sources close to the hotel indicated that the hotel been a separate structures in one location, the bigger structure was temporary closed down for maintenance works.
Sources said workers woke up on the January 3 2023 only to witness to their amazement on how alleged robbers had burgled the side hotel beyond ones apprehension.
This portal recorded number of items that have been taken away as included latest air conditioners, expensive foam mattresses, television sets, security metals among others.
In an answer to a question about the presence of a security man source replied in positive but said he heard nothing like robbery going on inspite of his night patrol within and outside the hotel.
Confirming the alleged unbelievable robbery scandal to reporters, the Chief Executive Officer of the facility, Bishop Dr Professer Billion Nana James Akwasi Oppong said this is the third time that the robbers have allegedly raided part of his hotel.
He said the previous incidents are still under police investigations and hoped that the police would take advantage of the current deal to intensify probe and bring the offenders to book.
