Odotobri Rural Bank Celebrates 40 Years Of Dedicated Service. Dished Out GHC 183,467.84 On Social Responsibilities.
The officials of Odotobri Rural Bank PLC have indicated the impactful gains the institution has so far made since 40 years of existence as one of the leading rural banks in the country, reports King Amoah our Editor -in-chief.
Consequential to its customer friendly products and excellent service delivery, the institution received a Gold Award in Rural Bank category (in Deposit Mobilization) at the 19th Ashanti Financial Service Excellence Awards which was organised under the auspices of the Manhyia Palace in 2022.
It has also received an award as the Best Rural Bank in the Ashanti region for 2021 financial year which was organized by the Association of Rural Banks in Ghana in 2022.
Touching on its corporate social responsibilities, Odotobiri Rural Bank has consistently supported the activities of the Ghana Police Service to forster security.
Hospitals, schools, among several institutions as well as farmers have also benefitted from the bank’s packages deal.
That was not all, as a giant rural bank in the financial sector, Odotobiri Rural Bank has also built an ultra-modern Community Center for Jacobu township, dubbed “Nana Adu Darko Community Centre” and a Science Laboratory for Jacobu Senior High Technical School.
In recent times, the Bank has spent a whooping sum of GHc 183, 467.84 on corporate social responsibilities in the 2022 financial year.

Education- GHs 29,290.63
Health- GHs 6,500.00
Traditional Support- GHs 18,400.00
Community Infrastructure- GHs 87,312.21
Ghana Police Service -delegate 7,245.00
Ghana National Fire Service- GHs 1,000.00
Agriculture- GHs 16,700.00
Others- GHs 17,020.00
The Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, Mr. Abraham Coffie made the above assertion to a section of the media during the celebration of the institution’s 40th anniversary in Kumasi.
The affable and hard working Manager lauded the envious archivements of the bank, and linked it to the proper management and policies from the board, management team, the entire staff and co-operation from their loyal customers.
He told the media at a press briefing that, further to the above hallmark of the achievements, bursaries are granted to the brilliant but needy students annually.
In the year 2023 financial year for instance, he said scholarships and bursaries granted amounted to GHs 31,200.00.
Mr Coffie hinted journalists that the Board and Management of the Bank are working seriously to roll out electronic channels like mobile app, develop products and services, open branches at strategic areas to bring banking businesses to the door steps of Ghanaians.
He accordingly advised Ghanaians especially those in the bank’s catchment areas in the Ashanti region to take advantage of the envious services render by the bank and do business with them for their own advantage.
