Pay Attention To The Crisis Confronting The Country And Stop Discussing The LGBTQ+ Bill – Movement To Parliament.
The Save Ghana Movement (SGM) a pro anti- corruption movement based in Accra in the Greater Accra Region says the acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community in our country was symbolized by the display of rainbow colors on our State House, simultaneously with the day Ghana’s Parliament initiated discussions on the LGBTQ+ matters.
In a telephone interview with the correspondent King Amoah in Kumasi, the founder and leader of the Movement, Mr Robert Andzie Ansah, this event raised questions about whether Parliament’s focus on this issue aligns with the expressed concerns and priorities of the Ghanaian people.
Mr Ansah disclosed that it is essential to analyze the parliamentary agenda and question when the citizens of Ghana demanded a discussion on LGBTQ+ matters and the Implementation legislation against it.
According to the Movement, our nation is grappling with pressing issues, particularly in the area of corruption.
Andzie posited that whilst devoting attention to issues like LGBTQ+, it is imperative that we address critical concerns such as passing laws that order our leaders to eliminate ex gratia, large sitting allowances, height allowances, and entertainment allowances.
The Movement reiterated that it is crucial to cancel the unnecessary travel allowances and ensure that their children of parliamentarians and politicians attend government schools while receiving healthcare in Ghanaian hospitals.
Such measures. Mr Ansah noted could significantly contribute to reducing corruption within our leadership.
For the past 32 years, he said challenges persist in vital areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and electricity, stressing that despite these longstanding issues, the focus remains on LGBTQ+,it was gathered.
Ansah pointed out that it is crucial to shift our attention to more urgent matters, as our communities are already capable at addressing instances related to LGBTQ+.
Redirecting our efforts towards significant societal issues will contribute to the overall progress and well-being of our nation, insisting that if we deprive our farm animals of food, they would venture out and bring financial burden back to us.
