The Aspiring Parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Bekwai constituency in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Samuel Prempeh Jnr has dished out a significant amount of over Ghc 8,000 to support some Circuits within the Bekwai Municipal who are participating in a football competitions, reports King Amoah in Kumasi.
The aim of the gesture is to encourage the youth to develop interest in sporting activities since football is one of the lucrative opportunities at the global level.
He commended the Sports Directorate of the Bekwai Municipal for organizing the sporting activities to help boost the talents of the youth in the football field.
He expressed delight about the warm reception he received from the organizers during his visits to the circuits of which the gala is been held
He further pledged that he would continue to show kindness to humanity especially on the issues that boarder on sports activities.
The aspirant observed that though the Sports Directorate didn’t call on him for a support, he thought it was prudent to make contribution since he been a youth it is his duty to support his people to build their future carriers.
To make the occasion attractive and comfortable, he was accompanied by the Constituency Chairman Mr Opoku Da-Rocha , Secretary Mr. Tijani Hussein Kada , Organiser Baba , Deputy Organiser Alock and Women Organiser (aka Maame NDC) and a section of the party supporters.
Later in an interview with ASP Sampene of Dess Fm in Ashanti Bekwai he said sports have a huge economic prospects that could transform the lives of the people and enhance the social-economic livelihoods of the local communities.
He bemoaned that the youth in the area were endowed with talents particularly in the area of football, and added that the tournament would help expose the raw talents to potential organizations, and individuals who could support them fully.
Below are the circuits that benefited ;Ntenanko Circuit, Bone Circuit, Anwiankwanta Circuit, Ahwiren Circuit A and B , Abodom Circuit A and B , Kokofu Circuit A and B , Bekwai Circuit A and B.
The Circuit Sports Chairmen expressed appreciation for the donation.
They praised the Aspiring candidate for Bekwai constituency for his enthusiasm towards the municipal gala competition for supporting talents as well , they assured him that the donation would be put in good use to enhance the mission in which it was donated.
