Reports: King Amoah.
In a striking call for introspection and humility, Very Rev. Prophet Anthony Kwarteng, the founder and leader of the Christ Power Miracle Mission Church located in Dome-Kwabenya, Greater Accra, has issued a powerful message to self-proclaimed pastors, prophets, and bishops.
In light of a recent meeting they had with former President John Dramani Mahama, Prophet Kwarteng emphasized the need for spiritual leaders to abandon attitudes of hatred and hypocrisy that have clouded their judgment towards the former president.
The meeting, which Mahama himself initiated, provided an opportunity for the clergy to engage in meaningful dialogue with the ex-president.
During the encounter, Mahama expressed his gratitude for their presence, extended apologies for any unintended offense caused by his public comments, and sought their prayers for unity, peace, and divine protection in the lead-up to the upcoming elections.
Rev. Kwarteng, in a telephone interview with our Ashanti regional Chief Correspondent King Amoah, took the opportunity to commend Mahama’s efforts in seeking reconciliation.
“It was a moment of grace,” he noted, “where the former president exhibited a willingness to connect with the clergy and address any grievances.
His humility in seeking forgiveness exemplifies true leadership.” Rev Anthony Kwarteng stated without any reservation.
Rev. Kwarteng did not shy away from addressing the broader issue within the church, particularly the hypocrisy that some leaders demonstrate.
He pointed out that many who claim to be followers of Christ often harbor unwarranted animosity towards former President Mahama without substantial reasons for their disdain.
“Pastors are called to lift each other up and to reflect the love of Christ, yet we have individuals who allow their positions to be tainted by hatred,” he lamented.
Reiterating his respect for Mahama, Prophet Kwarteng referred to him as a “God-fearing man” and someone who strives for unity and acceptance.
He cautioned his fellow pastors against the perils of “serving their stomachs” through deceitful means, contrasting it with the call to embody the true essence of Christian teaching—serving God and the community honestly and selflessly.
An important point raised by Rev. Kwarteng was the rather audacious notion that if President Akufo-Addo were to offer an apology to any pastor, the reaction would be markedly different.
“Would we witness the same graciousness from our current president? Mahama’s act of seeking reconciliation speaks volumes about his character and intentions,” Kwarteng reflected.
He underscored the idea that pastors should focus on an authentic relationship with God, eschewing the falsehoods perpetuated by those who misrepresent the pastoral calling.
“It is crucial for us to avoid attitudes rooted in deceit and strive toward the truth that Mahama represents,” he advised.
The Very Rev. Prophet concluded by encouraging naysayers to seek spiritual tutoring at his Dome Kwabenya church to foster a genuine transformation and refocus their ministry on the true tenets of Christian faith.
In a time marked by political polarization and religious division, Prophet Kwarteng’s message serves as a reminder of the power of forgiveness and unity.
It beckons the clergy not only to reevaluate their relationships with prominent figures like Mahama but also to hold themselves accountable to the values and teachings they profess to uphold.
