Members of Bring Mahama Back (BMB) are urging President Mahama to take swift action against Mr. Akwasi Amoako Atta, the former road minister, for his involvement in causing financial loss to the state.
The president and founder of the movement, Moses Tettey Dometey (Bola Ray Jnr), has pointed out that Mr. Amoako Atta, during his time as the road minister, disregarded the laws and processes of the country. It has been observed that Mr. Amoako Atta, shortly after the 2022 budget was presented to parliament, took the unilateral decision to close all tollbooths in the country without allowing for the necessary parliamentary debate and vote, despite warnings from the Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Sumana Bagbin.
This reckless action has resulted in the loss of jobs for tollbooth workers, hawkers in the area, and also causing further financial strain on the state. BMB firmly believes that Amoako Atta must be held accountable for his actions in accordance with the laws of the land.
It is imperative that justice is served and that those responsible for causing financial loss to the state are brought to book. The laws of the country must be upheld, and Mr. Amoako Atta must face the consequences of his actions. We are urging President Mahama is to take immediate action in arresting Mr. Amoako Atta to ensure that justice is served and the rule of law is upheld.
