The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Malaysia-Singapore chapter has demonstrated exemplary compassion and dedication to the welfare of Ghanaian immigrants in Malaysia and Singapore.
Recently, the chapter sponsored a critical eye surgery for a Ghanaian citizen in Malaysia who was on the brink of losing his sight entirely.
This selfless act, spearheaded by Chapter Chairman Mr. Eric Kwaku Agyemang, not only saved the individual’s vision but also underscored the NDC’s unwavering commitment to promoting the well-being of Ghanaians in the diaspora.
Regrettably, the current Ghanaian ambassador in Malaysia and the consular staff, who are appointees of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by clueless Akuffo Addo, have been remiss in their duties to safeguard the interests of Ghanaian citizens in Malaysia and surrounding countries.
The ambassador’s startling admission that she was not sent to prioritize the welfare of Ghanaians, but rather to represent the interests of Akuffo Addo, is a damning indictment of the NPP’s lack of concern for its citizens abroad.
In light of this egregious neglect, the NDC Malaysia chapter is calling for the immediate removal of the ambassador and the entire consulate staff in the Ghana High Commission in Malaysia.
Moreover, the chapter is advocating for the appointment of Mr. Eric Kwaku Agyemang, the chapter’s chairman, as the consular of the embassy by the Hon. Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa. This strategic appointment would enable Mr. Agyemang to leverage his expertise and network to serve the interests of Ghanaian nationals in Malaysia, ensuring that their welfare and concerns are given the attention they rightfully deserve.
