Police in Koforidua have arrested a female kenkey seller in connection with the death of a tailor.
The man was 52-year-old Felix Amanor. His body was found by the roadside at Dominion City near Pantoase in Koforidua on July 5, 2026.
Felix was a well-known tailor. He left his home at Blue Street near Adweso on the evening of July 4 after watching football. He changed his clothes and went out again. He never returned.
The next morning, residents found a body by the roadside. He was wearing only his underwear. His clothes and shop keys were found
His family reported the case to Adweso Police.
Police started investigation. They traced his phone calls. They found a woman he was in contact with. Some officers even disguised themselves as customers to buy kenkey from her to confirm her identity.
When she was arrested, she told police something shocking.
She allegedly told investigators that Felix collapsed and died while they were having sex.
She said out of fear, she carried his body and dumped it by the roadside.
Her fear was that her estranged husband would hear about it. She said she has separated from her husband due to marriage problems and did not want him to find out she was with another man.
The suspect has been taken to court. She has been granted bail while the docket has been sent to the Attorney General for advice.
Felix Amanor is survived by his wife, who has been sick for several years, and their two children. He was buried on October 4, 2026.
Police say the exact cause of death will be determined by medical examination. There were no serious injuries seen on the body.
