The founder and leader of the Risen People’s Party (RPP) Bishop Dr Professer Billion Nana James Akwasi Oppong aka Jakwapo has described the construction of one toilet facility in every household across the country as a laudable policy.
And for that reason his newly registered political party would implement the policy when Ghanaians transfer the power to him in the 2024 general elections.
In his end of year message to the good people of Ghana, the Bishop who also doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of Solid FM in Kumasi disclosed that no government can deliver without seeking the good health of its citizens.
This stemmed the fact that God values people who are concerned about sanitation and environmental issues, the clergy pointed out.
According to the leader of the Lord’s Fireworks Chapel International and Oppong Risen Chapel International respectively, he is not happy about the manner in which sanitation issues are tackled in the country.
Bishop Oppong indicated that sanitation and environmental laws in the country need to be reviewed to empower the judiciary to deal sternly with the offenders.
He decried the open defecation which he said, has characterized many Ghanaians who commit the offence and go unpunished because the laws seem to be inactive.
The clergy posited that until the laws that govern the sanitation and environment are made to bite, Ghanaians would continue to suffer through the harms we cause to the environment.
