Didi appointed as as the Accra Hearts of Of Oak Coach

Accra Hearts of Oak has announced the appointment of Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as the new head coach of the club going into the 2025/26 football season.

The experienced tactician, widely respected in Ghanaian football circles, has signed a two-year contract with the Phobians, with the club confirming that his appointment takes immediate effect.

Dramani returns to the Ghana Premier League with a wealth of experience and an impressive coaching résumé, having previously led arch-rivals Asante Kotoko to back-to-back league titles.

Dramani’s immediate challenge will be to prepare Hearts of Oak for the high-stakes 2025 President’s Cup clash against his former club, Asante Kotoko. The ceremonial fixture, scheduled to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium, offers the 58-year-old coach an early opportunity to assert his authority and begin his tenure on a positive note.

Mas-Ud Didi Dramani is no stranger to the pressures of managing one of Ghana’s most iconic football clubs. During his time at Asante Kotoko from 2012 to 2013, he guided the Porcupine Warriors to consecutive Ghana Premier League titles, establishing himself as one of the most accomplished local coaches in recent history.

His success at Kotoko earned him national recognition and opened doors for further roles on the international stage.

Following his exit from Kotoko in 2013, Dramani transitioned into development and technical roles, most recently serving as Head of Football at the renowned Right to Dream Academy.

His time at the academy further sharpened his expertise in youth development and player mentorship.

Dramani also played a key role in Ghana’s technical team during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, providing tactical insight and support to the senior national team, the Black Stars.
In addition, he has managed the Black Galaxies; Ghana’s national team composed of home-based players gaining further experience at the national level.

Despite his impressive track record, this is Dramani’s return to top-flight club coaching after more than a decade away from the Ghana Premier League.

His last stint in the domestic league was with Kotoko, and many observers will be keen to see how he adapts to the current competitive landscape of Ghanaian football.
